This week’s course of the week is Science!
Students study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science, which is a two-year full time course and is equivalent to three A-Levels.
The majority of science students have ambitions to go on to study at university, in various different subjects. Having spoken to the second year students, ambitions range from careers in Midwifery, Psychology and Forensic Science, to Bio Chemistry and Genetic Engineering! Another student is hoping to be taken on to do a Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering on completion of his course.
Highlights of the course for the group so far include visits to Oxford University, Cancer Research UK and a Space Department! The students have collectively enjoyed the practical element of the course, and are currently in the process of securing places at universities to study the above mentioned courses. Some already have places at establishments including Bournemouth and Middlesex Universities!
