This qualification is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) who is the recognised professional body for staff employed in a range of roles in finance and accounting. Members of the AAT are fully qualified accounting technicians
Where can I study?
What will I learn?
You will gain essential skills to start work in an accounting environment. This course is suitable for school leavers with a proven interest in accounts, as well as mature students and those wishing to return to work after a break. Full time students will also gain a BTEC qualification in Business and Accounting

How will I be assessed?
Many of the units are assessed by computer-based exams and the provisional results are available immediately or are marked by an assessor at the college
You will need a minimum of 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above, including English and Mathematics, together with a proven interest in accountancy. All participants must become student members of the AAT
Students are required to become members of AAT and the registration and subscription fee will be approximately £120. Purchase of books are optional
Completion of this course (with Level 2 Maths) will enable you to progress to Level 3
You will be able to consider positions within the government sector, banking sector or accountancy practices
