Henrietta Lowen-Cooper, a former HND Sport Student, has started her exciting career this September. At the age of 22, Henrietta has secured a position as a Primary School Teacher. Having realised that exams and school were not for her, she got in touch to tell us how swapping to College was the right path for achieving her aspirations.
"Exams were never my strong point throughout school; I completed my GCSEs and then tried A-levels. My AS exams proved to me that I would not achieve anything I wanted by persevering with the subjects I was doing, therefore I looked for something new. I'm so glad I did!
During my 2 years of the HND I was able to flourish, my confidence grew due to the excellent teaching and guidance. The help and career support I received was second to none.
If I had stuck with my A-levels I feel I would not have achieved what I have been able to. Doing this course, allowed me to convert onto a full BA degree. From there, I was able to complete my teaching training and I have secured an excellent job for September. Completing the HND has set me up for life and given me an opportunity that I would not have received anywhere else."
Congratulations to Henrietta, and best of luck with your teaching career. So many people struggle with exams and no doubt this will reassure Students that there are many options.
