In May, Buckinghamshire College Group partnered with Bucks Business First to hold the first Talent Showcase Workshop linking students to potential employers in the Hair and Beauty and Hospitality sectors.
The event, which took place at our Aylesbury Campus, provided students searching for jobs with the opportunity to meet businesses and share what they have to offer, whilst developing their interview skills and finding out more about the opportunities available. Some of the companies that attended included Champneys Health Resorts, Cliveden House, Hartwell House, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Moogies, Sodexo, Two Spoons Ltd, Waddesdon Manor as well as partner organisations such the UK Spa Association.

Lucy Milton, Head of Business Development said: “Buckinghamshire College Group has been delighted to work in partnership with Bucks Business First hosting the first talent Show Case Workshop for Hospitality which gave our final year students the opportunity to meet leading employers in Hospitality. The event helped students learn first-hand about the sector, what training is available, what to expect from a career in the industry and most importantly how to get started. Students gained inspiration for their careers whilst networking with leading employers from the area. An inspiring event which has given a huge boost to the start of their job searches and career choices.”
The event included presentations and a Q&A followed by interviews between employers and students which were split into focused sessions in Hospitality, Beauty and Hair.
Claire Gray, Curriculum Manager for Hospitality, “I can’t thank you enough for today. Students and staff have been emailing me saying that they loved it.”
Maria Woolverton, Head of Operations – Moogies Ltd: “It was a great event and fantastic to see what you are achieving in terms of business connections. We felt very privileged to be considered amongst the other companies you had in attendance. I think we have one star from amongst those that we connected with, but we are certainly open to taking to more of your students if anyone missed the chance”.
Ruby Bailey-Knights, People and Culture Partner Cliveden Luxury Hotels: “What an excellent event yesterday was! Thank you very much for inviting us. It was great to attend, the students were very engaging. I look forward to working with you moving forward.’
