Our talented second year Special Effects Makeup students recently took their skills to the next level by collaborating with Wycombe Hospital for an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course in Advanced Resuscitation.

As part of the course's final assessment, the students created hyper-realistic injuries, including burns, seatbelt injuries, cuts and bruising from internal bleeding, to simulate real-life trauma scenarios. The hospital provided four detailed briefs, which the students worked through together, applying their technical knowledge and creativity to bring injuries to life.

This hands-on project gave the students a unique opportunity to practice their craft in a real-world setting while supporting the essential training of medical professionals. It also challenged them to understand and execute technical terminology from the medical field, broadening their professional skills.

The experience will be a standout addition to their CV's and portfolios as they prepare to moe on to university next year, showcasing both their practical abilities and teamwork.

We are immensely proud of our students for their professionalism, creativity, and dedication. This collaboration highlights the value of combining technical skills with creativity and gives our future SFX professionals a fantastic platform for their next steps.
