Ceramics
Ceramics, Sculpture and Pot Throwing
You are encouraged to further develop your personal ideas and creativity following a structured course which is designed to develop your practical skills in a supportive environment. We welcome all from beginners to advanced on every level of the ceramics course.
There is no assessment at the end of the course just ongoing support and evaluation. An A3 book is not essential but a small sketch book for note taking and design planning is very helpful.

Painting
Painting Workshop
The Thursday painting workshop at our Amersham Campus provides a day workshop facility offering an opportunity to enhance and expand your skills and knowledge. This course aims to foster self-confidence and enjoyment of painting in a stimulating environment. Whilst also exploring a creative approach to painting, the course aims to help you establish your own style and identity. This course is a fun and relaxing experience, offering a range of guidance from the tutor.
Students will have an excellent opportunity to explore materials and improve observational skills, along with new approaches to painting. Instruction is given specific to your needs, along with supportive and helpful group critiques.
There is a great sense of community at the Thursday Painting workshop and many students return year on year to continue progressing in their own skill level.
Tables and easels are provided. Students supply their own materials, tutors will advise further at the start of the course, however a hard-backed A3 sketchbook is essential.
About the Tutor
Pam Dowson is experienced in teaching Fine Art and Life Drawing Classes courses at the Buckinghamshire College Group. Alongside a thorough understanding of the traditional techniques, Pam facilitates one to one guidance to encourage students to create their own style, develop individually and gain confidence.

Printmaking
Printmaking Workshop
The Friday Printmaking workshop at our Amersham Campus provides a day workshop facility offering established artists and the new printmaker an opportunity to enhance and expand their print knowledge. This printmaking course aims to provide a general overview of a number of basic printmaking techniques.
During the course you will learn how to make relief prints, mono-prints, collagraphs, etchings/aquatints, dry point etchings, and more.
We have a fully equipped printmaking workshop with an Albion press, (Lino cuts) a Rochat press, (Etching) and a Starwheel press for collagraphs.
Students have the option to develop personal themes and ideas across the range of printmaking processes available. There is a great sense of community at the Friday Printmaking workshop and many students continue progressing in skill level.
There are some additional costs for materials but the amount charged will depend on the type and quantity of materials used in projects. This can only be priced on a per project basis. A hard-backed A3 sketchbook is essential.
As part of your programme of study, you are strongly recommended to visit galleries, museums and exhibitions, and to familiarise yourself with artists. You may need to bring in various items, e.g. postcards of artworks. You will need an A3 sketchbook to track processes and show examples of your explorations and studies. It is also advisable to get an A2 portfolio to keep your prints flat and in good condition, to transport them etc.
Experienced students already inducted in monoprint, linocut, collagraphy, etching and silkscreen printing, have the option to develop personal themes and ideas across the range of printmaking processes available.

The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance is aimed at students who wish to continue their education through applied learning.
The course is designed to define the artistic ambitions and professional progression opportunities, and to build up a professional practice portfolio whilst working on creative projects.
Students will focus on their specific instrument but will be expected to expand their musical portfolio, acquire a solid grounding in musical principles, build their versatility and becomeaudition ready for professional performance roles such as theatre and session work as well as developing their creative expression.

Music Technology & Production
UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Music Technology & Production
This one year course offers progression for Students who have completed studies at Level 3 (BTEC or UAL Extended Diploma, A Levels) and wish to enter the industry or who need to further develop their skills before entering higher education.
Studying in our Avid equipped analogue and digital recording studios Students will master a range of hardware and software as well as acquiring a deep understanding of production principles and under-the-hood processes including plug-in building using Max and digital signal processing, with the aim of becoming industry-ready for a range of roles and occupations.
You will discover Audio editing and mixing, sound recording, composition and sound-tracking and professional practices and procedures in relation to the film and game industry as well as an introduction to the industry and the career paths available to you.
You will also be looking at foley, dialogue recording, sound effects and music for films as well as undertaking a final project in a specialism of your choice.You will learn using industry standard Avid software and there is the opportunity for Avid User Certification as part of this course.

UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Screenwriting for Film

To be a screenwriter is to be a storyteller and a narrator. Our course aims to help bring your story to life.
