Buckinghamshire College Group is committed to supporting the progression of our students into a wide range of successful destinations after they complete their programme of study; this includes employment, further education or training or an apprenticeship.

We are dedicated to achieving the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks as outlined by the Department for Education and we are working in collaboration with the Careers Enterprise Company to ensure a high quality careers education programme for our students.

At Buckinghamshire College Group we believe that Careers education is the responsibility of all staff, and as such our Careers provision is provided by a range of staff across the organisation and includes staff with specialist Careers or IAG (information, advice and guidance) background, staff within faculty areas who have specialist industry background, and staff in cross college teams who specialise in employer relations. The Careers Leader is a strategic management post that has the responsibility to ensure that the college’s Careers provision meets the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks. The careers programme below shows what careers related education a student at Buckinghamshire College Group can expect to access as part of their programme. Performance Coaches are a key feature of the Study Programme at Buckinghamshire College Group and students have regular tutorials with specialist their Coaches, who work with both individuals and groups.

They provide tutorials which include focusing on developing positive growth mind-sets, developing skills and attitudes that support learning and getting students ready for employment. They also support students in planning progression including UCAS, CV writing, interview skills, career planning and much more. Study Programmes also include maths and English if the student has not yet achieved a Grade 4/C at GCSE level, and this is an essential element of the programme – employers repeated report that young employees are lacking skills in these key areas and adults who do not hold these qualifications find seeking work more difficult.
