This course is aimed at individuals wishing to pursue a career in the Film, Games & TV industries. You can learn the specialist skillsets to work in any of the above sectors in the entertainment industries. So if you fancy a job as a concept artist, VFX artist, 3D animator, motion capture artist, CG specialist or working in the creative/visual area of games development then this is the course for you.

What will I learn?
You will learn a range of processes and techniques including Pre-Production Research, Planning & Concept Design, Production 3D modelling, texture creation, rigging, animation, sound VFX & render pipeline and Post Production Sound & sequence editing, Title sequence and Render editing.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is based on both practical and written assignments delivered over a modulated system based on three sections: Pre-Production, Production & Finally Post-Production. This culminates with a final End of Year Show where students get the opportunity to present their work to both public & industry sectors.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSE's at Grade 4 (C) or above one of which must be English or Maths OR successful completion of a Level 2 qualification including a pass at English and Maths. You should have a creative portfolio demonstrating traditional or digital drawing skills.

Progression & Career Opportunities
The course will help you to develop the fundamental skills and qualifications required to enter either our very own course in Animation & VFX at Level 4, 5, 6 whilst also giving you the very real possibility to enter directly into industry through a chosen pathway with our industry contacts. Industry include Animator, Games Designer, Texture Artist, 3D Artist.

Additional Information
Although optional, students should think about the possibility of having the use of either a laptop or desktop (PC) which is capable of running the 3D software required for this course. You will be eligible for free downloads from the manufacturers for most of the specialist software we run on this course.
