You will learn a range of advanced recording and production skills in our Apple equipped studios and edit suites which will prepare you for the industry, including electronic music production, sound recording, music technology in performance, and sound for film and game. How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed over the course of two years via a series of practical assignments which will demonstrate your skills. You will complete a portfolio in your second year including a major sound recording project, a business plan and a DVD of your sound for media work, and participate in the planning and execution of an all-day event.

Entry Requirements
To join this programme you will need 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 (or equivalent) including Maths and/or English.

Progression & Career Opportunities
This is worth the same as 3 A-Levels in terms of UCAS points. You will acquire the skills and knowledge to progress on to a range of university courses in music technology and related disciplines. Former students of this course have gone on to find success in sound recording, mastering, promotion, PA and lighting hire, live sound mixing, DJing live and on the radio, and even video production.

Equipment suggested for this course: A set of good quality headphones with 1 / 4 connector. Although students are able to work on college machines, home access to a computer with music software is useful. We will assist students in obtaining educational discounts where available.
