All of our full-time 16-18 year old students are enrolled onto our BCG Study Programme.
What is the BCG Study Programme?
The BCG Study Programme is all about getting you from A to B. That is, from where you are when you join us, to the next step towards your chosen career. We help you to go ‘beyond the qualification’ so you have the skills, knowledge, experience and personal attributes to realise your career ambitions. The BCG Study Programme is designed in with employers, partners and the community to ensure that you students benefit from exceptional learning experiences that can transform your future.
Specialist Qualification
Choose from our wide range of vocational, technical and professional courses that will get you progressing towards your chosen career. We can help with information, advance and guidance on all of your options based on your starting point, interests and ambitions.
English and maths
All of our students continue to develop their English and maths skills as to support their work readiness. If you do not yet have a grade 4/C or above at GCSE then you will be working towards a qualification – this is a government requirement.
Core Work Readiness, Sustainability & Digital Skills
Buckinghamshire employers have identified that to prepare for their careers, students need to develop:​ digital skills to be able to use software relevant to business and industry; work readiness ​skills such as high standards, communication, collaboration and leadership; sustainability skills relevant to industry​ to support the net zero agenda. We have designed our learning experiences to enable strong development of these skills in direct response to students’ and employers’ needs.
Work Placement
All of our full-time courses come with a requirement to gain real work experience that is relevant to your career ambitions. We run employer led projects to get you work ready before you take on your external work placement.
WISPA Tutorial
Our tutorial programme focuses on your personal and professional development. WISPA stands for Wellbeing, Inclusion, Sustainability, Professionalism and Ambition and the tutorial programme is designed around these five areas, exploring current topics that will support you to successfully navigate study, work and life.
Enrichment
There are plenty of subject specific and cross-college opportunities that can enrich your learning experience. With a range of trips, masterclasses, clubs, community projects, Duke of Edinburgh, student union, careers and UCAS events to names just a few, you will something to broaden your experience of college life.
Pastoral Support
You will have your own Progress Coach who will help you to stay on track throughout your learning journey at BCG. They support you to set and meet challenging targets and guide you to our support services where needed, so that you fulfil your potential…and beyond!
