This course will enable students with a passion for and an ability in design, to develop their practical, conceptual and creative skills. This course provides you with the opportunity to develop creative and technical art and design skills, to work with a wide variety of media and materials and to develop an appreciation of art and design in a broad context.

What will I learn?
You will gain experience working in a variety of areas including 2D and 3D design, digital art, photography, ceramics, painting, drawing, print-making, woodwork and metalwork. You will also be actively encouraged and have the opportunity to focus on your own interests.

How will I be assessed?
Continuous assessment through practical work, assignments and project led exercises with a final major project in the final term.

Entry Requirements
You must have three GCSEs at grade 3, preferably in an Art & Design subject and English or maths. Ideally you could bring a portfolio of artwork to the interview and may be asked to sit an initial assessment.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Students can progress onto a Level 3 Design course.
