On 14th February, our Fashion, Retail and Communication students were welcomed into popular clothing store, River Island's Distribution Depot in Milton Keynes!
Students from Aylesbury Campus visited the store's depot and were given a tour by the Warehouse Management Team.
The tour explained the logistics of the supply chain from fabric, to manufacture, to dispatch, to stores or direct to the home.
Course Leader, Penny Kelley said: "this kind of inside view on the industry and supply chain is invaluable to our students. It has taught them about the fast paced nature of the retail industry and also the logistics and planning needed on a large scale to ensure stores are stocked and customers get their online orders on time! I am very excited to see how they will use what they have learnt in their current project that is based on Buying and Merchandising and critical path."
