One of the ambitions of Buckinghamshire College Group is to become an inclusive college. With that, last week, staff from all campuses took part in a Development Day based around Diversity, Equality, Wellbeing and Inclusion, DewiFest.
The aim of the day was for staff to recognise and celebrate differences, use strategies to manage differences effectively and link our learning and development to the college values of Respect and Ambition.
The day began with a welcome from Principal, Jenny Craig and was followed by six 30-minute sessions to help staff explore Cultural Diversity, Disability & Disadvantage, Mental Health, Neurodiversity, LGBTQI+ and Communication & Accessibility.
The staff development day concluded with teams across the College coming together to reflect on the day and make a pledge to inclusive practice.
