This is an industry led, one-year course, equivalent to 4 GCSEs, which will allow progression to the Level 3 course and or industry, starting with studying towards an Award which will later on lead to Diploma. We are working with industry professionals to ensure that this course provides you with the skills you need for a career in this industry. Students will be given a broad introduction to creative media production that will develop their understanding of the interrelated nature of the discipline.
Technical production processes are used to develop skills in film making, radio, animation and graphics. Students will have the opportunity to develop their skills whilst continuing to investigate the range of alternative career opportunities available in creative media production.

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through a range of practical methods as well as theory. The qualifications will encourage student recognition of the broader context within which the media industries operate and the necessity to develop transferable skills to ensure an effective contribution to both the immediate and future development of those industries.

Entry Requirements
To join this course, you will need four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above in both English and Maths.
You should be able to demonstrate an interest in the subject. Entry is also subject to an interview, basic skills screening and initial assessment.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Progression onto a Level 3 qualification such as the BTEC Level 3 Diploma Digital Creative Media Production. Level 3 courses provide a transferrable skills base for preparation for university or working within the creative media industries.
