Previous Access to Healthcare Professions student, Isabella White, got in touch earlier this year reflecting on her time at college, and let us know how she’s getting on at university.
“I chose to study with Bucks College Group as it was close to where I live, and the timetable was flexible meaning I could work and study.
I knew the Access course was right for me because I have always wanted to be a Midwife, however I needed more UCAS points to get into university. I was able to get more than enough UCAS points to go to my chosen university, and the course aided me immensely with writing essays and academic writing in general.
I really enjoyed the counselling module, I learnt a lot of skills that I now use in everyday life, and I also really appreciated the staff, they went above and beyond to help whenever I needed it. I felt extremely supported.
I am currently a first year at university studying Midwifery, I am just over half way through first year and I have already delivered a baby and witnessed many births. The access course is intense but it is the perfect step up to help you at university. Without this course I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
