Recently, Buckinghamshire College Group applied to be part of Michelmersh’s Pledge 100 annual brick giveaway.
After the launch in 2020, Pledge 100 aimed to support and encourage youth training in skill-based occupations and those embarking on careers within the construction industry. This was particularly important with the industry experiencing a shortage of skilled labour and gaps in funded support. With this, Michelmersh understood that encouraging and supporting the next generation into applying for construction-focused employment was crucial.
The Pledge 100’s initiative specifically aims to deliver 100,000 bricks for future bricklayers in 2021, and Bucks College Group qualified. Our Bricklaying students then received an exciting delivery of 9,640 free bricks to the Aylesbury Campus.
