During the summer all three of our campuses have been preparing for the start of the new T Level qualifications. This September our new T Level students have enjoyed walking in to new specially designed and purpose built suites, classrooms and labs. These new facilities have enhanced our campuses with a modern look and are completed with new industry standard equipment.

At Aylesbury and Amersham we have new Digital, Design & Development technology labs with high specification PCs and advanced networking facilities. For Education & Childcare students we have new dedicated learning spaces at Wycombe and Aylesbury which include educational play and kitchen areas. Our Healthcare and Science students benefit from a new science laboratory, learning spaces and treatment wards.

These new facilities support our first T Levels in Digital, Design & Development, Education & Childcare, Supporting Healthcare and Laboratory Science, which have proved popular with students and their parents. Richard Kirkham, Executive Director, Curriculum Planning and Design said “these excellent new facilities have been installed to ensure that our T Levels are taught in environments that are reflective of industry and ensure all the exciting curriculum innovations found in T Levels can be achieved”

T Levels are designed for the future including a significant work placement, together with input from local and national businesses. T Levels can be studied over 2 years after a young person completes their GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 traditional A Levels when completed. Students without the entry requirements needed for T Levels are still welcome at the College, a Transition Programme has been designed to act as a route towards a full T Level for those who didn’t quite get the grades at school. For September 2022, Buckinghamshire College Group plans to offer further T Levels in Construction and Business & Administration.

Some limited places are available for some of our T Levels for starting this month (September 2021). Applications for September 2022 will open in October 2021.
