Music performance student, Joe McLennan-Parish, has been awarded the Royal College of Music tuition fee bursary after auditioning and securing his place at the prestigious conservatoire last term.
Joe, who’s first instrument is tuba, had auditions at 3 conservatoires, with offers of a place from all 3, and has accepted his offer of a place at RCM.
The bursary is awarded to students “who demonstrate high levels of musical potential”, and is designed to cover course costs for the time studying at the Royal College. Joe will be studying for 4 years in total to achieve a Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree, and intends to go on to a career in the music industry, with hopes of joining an orchestra in the future.
As part of Joe’s upcoming final project at Buckinghamshire College Group, he is organising a series of recitals in partnership with Bucks Music Trust across the county, including at Aylesbury Music Centre on the 7th May, and dates in Amersham and Wycombe TBC. He is also performing at the Royal Albert Hall on 14th March as part of the Bucks Music Trust Celebration Concert.
