A couple of weeks ago, Buckinghamshire College Group hosted their Annual Student awards ceremony. As well as recognising the amazing work of our students, the event is a great time to make note of all the wonderful employers we work with to give our students the best chance of success.

Among the 25 awards given out on the evening, two were dedicated to our employers. Firstly, our Apprentice Employer of the Year. Nominated by Sarah Harding, Head of Workforce Development was Grizzlee’s Barbershop.

Sarah said,

I have nominated Grizzlees Barbers for Apprenticeship Employer of the Year. Owners Carly and Lee are really supportive employers of their apprentice Oliver and from day one have always encouraged him to develop his skills to a high standard.Lee has a real passion for barbering and continually shares his wealth of knowledge and skills with Oliver which is really showing through in his work for his apprenticeship.

Oliver started his Apprenticeship in October 2022 and he is due to achieve ahead of his expected end date. This is due to the great support he has received and there is no doubt that Oliver will be a fantastic barber due to the supportive and motivated nature of Grizzlee’s Barbershop and he will certainly progress to become a fully qualified barber.

The award was collected on behalf of Carly and Lee by the apprentice in mention, Oliver and a fellow colleague.
