This week, Buckinghamshire College Group welcomed students to a fun and vibrant start to the new academic year with the annual Freshers’ Fair, hosted across all three of our campuses; Aylesbury, Wycombe and Amersham. The event, designed to introduce students to the wide range of opportunities available on campus and beyond, was a resounding success, drawing hundreds of attendees.
The fairs were buzzing with activity, as students from various courses explored stalls representing student clubs and local businesses. From fitness and creative pursuits to volunteering opportunities, it was a great chance for students to explore new interests and become part of the lively college community.
Local organisations were also on hand to offer advice on everything from mental health support to community involvement opportunities, ensuring students were equipped with valuable resources to enhance their college experience. Attendees enjoyed giveaways, samples, and demonstrations, with many walking away with new connections and exciting plans for the upcoming term.
“The Freshers’ Fair is one of the highlights of the year” said Director of Student Services, Matt Mansfield. “It’s a fantastic way for students to kick off their college journey, meet new people, and discover all the ways they can make the most of their time here at college”.
The week wasn’t just about stalls and information – there was plenty of entertainment too! From a bucking bronco and VR headsets to making friendship bracelets, the event had something for everyone, making it a memorable experience for all who attended.
As we look forward to the year ahead, we remain committed to providing students with not only an excellent education but also the experiences and opportunities that enrich their personal growth and development.
To all our new students – welcome to the Buckinghamshire College Group family! We can’t wait to see how you make your mark on campus this year!
