Our students recently took an exciting step towards their future careers in gaming and animation with an exclusive visit to Falmouth University’s Games Academy.
The visit welcomed students from both the Level 3 Extended Diploma Game Art & Development course at our Aylesbury campus, and the Level 3 Extended Diploma CGI & Animation course at our Amersham campus. Both courses are accredited by UAL (University of the Arts London), ensuring a high standard of creative education.
Hosted at Falmouth University’s Penryn campus, the day was packed with activities and insights tailored to give students a true sense of university life. The students met with Games Academy tutors, discussed course offerings, and heard from degree students about their experiences and projects. This immersive experience allowed them to explore the advanced skills and techniques required to excel in university-level game design and development.
A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to collaborate with Falmouth’s degree students in playtesting and reviewing their final submission projects. Buckinghamshire College Group students tested a variety of game products, providing feedback and gaining hands-on experience with creative problem-solving and gameplay mechanics. This interaction offered a valuable preview of what awaits them in a university environment that nurtures innovation, collaboration, and real-world skills.
Reflecting on the day, students were inspired by the creativity, technical skill, and dedication they saw at Falmouth’s Games Academy. The trip broadened their perspective on potential future paths and affirmed their passion for a career in game art, animation, and development. Bucks College Group is proud to support these talented students as they prepare for the next step in their educational journey, with Falmouth University proving to be an exciting possibility on the horizon.
