As a student at Buckinghamshire College Group there is an emphasis throughout the academic year on employment and progression. If you study a full-time programme then an industry placement forms a vital part of your course. Some of these placements are already producing amazing results in giving our students real world opportunities and the chance to shine.
Abigail Sargeant a media student at Buckinghamshire College Group is making a name for herself as a writer with The Bucks Herald newspaper as part of her work experience programme. She recently made the front page of their website with an article on the future of Aylesbury amongst other stories published in recent days.
Eleanor Turnham (Creative Media L3) shone in her full week at Working Titles Films (responsible for many blockbuster movies including Hot Fuzz and Grimsby) and has been asked to return every week from January 2019. She’s been on film sets, met actors and is also involved in highly secretive pre-production discussions.
A special mention goes to Tirion Ashton, another college media student who is at Oxford Media Solutions and assisting with the making of films and preparing for her February two-week placement as a researcher on Channel 4’s Unreported World TV programme.
Finally, Art & Design student Harry Brogan is following in Abigail’s s journalistic footsteps as a reporter on the news desk at the Bucks Free Press newspaper.
