This site carpentry course is for you if you are preparing to work in the industry or already employed and need a recognised industry qualification. This course will help you to develop your existing skills and knowledge and introduce you to more advanced techniques.

What will I learn?
This course will help to develop the skills employers in industry are looking for such as technical and practical skills, problem solving, numeracy, literacy, team working and communication.

- Principles of maintenance and repair
- Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery

How will I be assessed?
Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, theory assessments, external tests and a practical synoptic assignment.

Entry Requirements
To join this course, you will need a Level 1 qualification in Site Carpentry and three GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including both English and Maths.
You should be able to demonstrate an interest in the subject. Entry is also subject to an interview, basic skills screening and initial assessment.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion, you may proceed onto the Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry. You will be able to find full employment in the Carpentry and Joinery Industry as, for example, a site carpenter.

You will be required to supply your own safety boots and overalls.
