This carpentry and joinery course is for you if you want to learn the basic skills required in this specialist trade to enable you to seek a job in the industry. At this level, you do not need experience, just enthusiasm and commitment to learn and undertake a range of small projects.

How will I be assessed?
Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, theory assessments, external tests and a practical synoptic assignment.

Entry Requirements
To join this programme you will need both Maths and English at grade 3.

Progression & Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion, you may proceed onto the Level 2 Diploma in Bench Joinery or Site Carpentry. You will be able to find employment in the Carpentry and Joinery Industry as, for example, a joiner, carpenter's mate or in the Performing Arts industry working on sets and stagecraft.

Additional Information
A course contribution fee of £50.00 will apply, this contributes towards an external trade-related trip, course textbook and course administration. You will also be required to supply your own safety boots and overalls.
