What will I learn?
This qualification will give learners an introduction to Counselling Skills in preparation for further learning or training. The development of listening skills will also support learners to develop skills need in daily life and at work for example in the field of health and social care.

How will I be assessed?
All students are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. Work is regularly assessed by the course tutor and will also be internally verified by another tutor. Students portfolios will contain learning reviews, self-reviews, peer testimonies, tutor observations, tutorial records and specific pieces of work relevant to the level of training.

There is no requirement for learners to have achieved prior qualifications or to have prior skills, knowledge or understanding. This course is one day a week for 3 hours over 7 weeks.

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) This course provides a base for personal and professional communication in counselling.

On completion of the Level 1 you will have an interview with your tutor on progressing to Level 2.
