SPARKS & HIP Magazine are on the lookout for the UK’s best electrical, plumbing & heating apprentices!
We are proud to be hosting the local heats of the SPARKS & HIP Apprentice of the Year competition, giving electrical and plumbing students and apprentices from the region the chance to show off their skills and win incredible prizes.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for trainee tradesmen to kick-start their career, experience the thrill of a live competition and make new connections along the way. Level 2 and 3 students are invited to enter the competition, during which they will be judged on a number of practical tasks by a panel of industry experts.
Regional heats take place in 8 colleges around the United Kingdom. On 13th February it is the South East regional heat, which will be held at our Wycombe Campus. The winner of each electrical heat will go on to compete at the grand final, which will take place in April at Schneider Electric’s impressive Innovation Hub in Coventry. The winners of each plumbing & heating heat will go to the grand final taking place at the state of the art, ADEY Innovation Training and Conference Centre in Cheltenham.
As well as the prestige that comes with winning a national competition, there are prizes worth up to £10,000 up for grabs from sponsors such as Schneider Electric, Electric Center, Wago, Connexbox, the IET, Mira Showers, Watersafe, Worcester Bosch, Pegler, Kingspan and DeWalt.
