We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Robert Wilfort to our TV studio at the Amersham campus. Best known for his role as Jason West in Gavin & Stacey, Robert has also appeared in hit series including Bridgerton, Sex Education, The Thick of It, and is the voice of Samson in Thomas & Friends.
Our Level 3 Film & TV students had an unforgettable experience as they interviewed Robert on their TV show Frame the Fame. As a true industry professional, Robert shared fascinating insights from his career in television, film, and voice acting, giving students invaluable advice and inspiration.
This was also a landmark moment for our first-year students, as it marked their very first attempt at producing live TV. And as can sometimes happen in the fast-paced world of live broadcasting, a technical glitch meant the start of the interview was missed. Thankfully, the issue was swiftly resolved, and the show went on! Moments like these are all part of the learning process, and the students will be reflecting on the experience in their evaluations.
As well as hearing about Robert’s varied career, the students also gained valuable insights into what it’s like to work with on-screen talent from a production perspective. Robert shared his experiences of being on set, collaborating with different crews, and the vital role that behind-the-scenes teams play in creating successful TV and film projects. It was a unique chance for the students to understand how professionals like Robert approach their work and how important smooth communication is between cast and crew.
A huge thank you to Robert for giving up his time to visit us and for helping to make it such a memorable and educational day.
