As its National Apprenticeship Week, we’ve been catching up with some of our current apprentices and finding out about their experiences of learning on the job!
Alix is currently a Level 2 Apprentice Hairdresser at Paula Stevens Salons.
Why did you choose an apprenticeship?
I liked the idea of learning and getting paid at the same time! I also thought I’d get more experience learning on the job. I chose Hairdressing because since I was little girl I’ve always wanted be a hairdresser!
What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?
The training. I work for a small company, so I feel like I benefit from a more personal approach. As it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, I’m learning the skills I need to progress in the industry.
What do you plan to do next?
I’m still thinking about it at the moment, but I’m interested progressing to study at the next level.
