Want to go to university but don't have the entry qualifications to be able to apply? Our Access to Higer Education course is for you! Access courses are 1-year long, and are available in a range of subjects including Nursing and Healthcare Professions, Health Professions and Human Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences. A level 3 Access to Higher Education course provides the qualification and credits needed to apply for uni.
Past Access student, Laura, said “After working in healthcare for years, I knew I wanted to be a midwife but I didn’t have the academic qualifications to gain me a university place. So, at 25, I applied for the Access to Healthcare course at Bucks College Group. Although the year was incredibly full on and, at times, very challenging, I achieved the grades I needed to be accepted at university. I cannot thank Maddie, Val and the team enough for providing the support and encouragement I needed to get me to where I am today. Now, almost a year into my midwifery degree, I can say that this Access course truly prepared me for the academic assignments I have been undertaking at Level 4 and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to apply for a healthcare degree. Laura is currently working frontline in a local hospital supporting with the coronavirus response, and is looking forward to returning to her studies.
