Past student, Linda Thomson, who studied Foundation Art and Design at our Amersham campus has recently got in touch to tell us about her experience at the College, and what she did next!
I chose to study at Buckinghamshire College Group because of the facilities and great links to college entrance.
The Foundation Art and Design course helped to develop my understanding of all the areas of the art and design arena. My ambition was to further my education and gain entrance to college which I achieved. I went on to Winchester to study Fashion & Textiles.
The thing I most enjoyed about the course was the support and encouragement of the tutors, and the breadth of the design courses available. I travelled from the Shetland Islands to live in Amersham, and had the most amazing time at College!
I’m currently developing Design Projects, Sales, Management, Styling, Brand development for Couture and High Fashion companies, and creating business solutions. Extensive hands on management experience of working with teams developing Collections for projects delivery both UK and oversees.
My Design Collections include: Armani, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren, Whistles London and Glasgow, Harrods London, Liberty London, Saks Fifth Avenue New York, Bloomingdales New York, Mitsokushi Japan, Additionally Freelance work for Design Agencies throughout Britain, United States, Scandinavia and Japan.
