On the 10th June the Workzone/Careers team in association with Flannery Plant Hire hosted the first of what we hope to be many Virtual Construction Careers Sessions.
Flannery’s have been trading for over 50 years and are a well respected Civil Engineering contractor, they are also one of Bucks College Group’s Enterprise Advisors who offer their time to promote and increase engagement between the College and the workplace.
The 90 minute presentation included information on differing careers in the construction industry, we virtually met an apprentice on site who explained her role and what she has learnt while at Flannery’s. Hints were provided on how to approach employers within the industry with advice from representatives on behalf of Flannery’s, CITB, HS2 and Eiffage Kier.
Students were invited to attend and those who did participate came from all areas and levels of the curriculum. Students are able to catch up and watch the recording of this session on our VLE, Cloud.
