The Level 3 Acting students' outdoor production of William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' is available to watch online now. The performance was filmed live in June 2022.
Director and Level 3 Acting Course Leader, Irene Rambota, said
The cast were thrilled to have stage combat workshops with fight directors Zhenya Leverett and Stephen Louis who choreographed the rapier and dagger fights as well as the unarmed opening brawl. The students were delighted that they all had the opportunity to practise stage fighting with rapiers in the workshops.
A special mention must go to Level 3 Acting graduate Ana Maria Sandulescu, who took on the Nurse's role at the last minute, and Level 3 Backstage student Elio Baatz, who stepped in to cover for Paris. Level 3 Music Performance graduates, JJ Neal and Alex Oldknow, played live music throughout, Level 3 TV and Film students filmed the show, a Level 3 Photography student took photographs and a number of Level 3 Backstage students participated in the crowd scenes.
It's always a very special experience for the students when they can collaborate on a project in this way.
