Three of our Level 3 Film and TV Students; Alex, Eduard and Rugile have recently assisted The Fremantle Trust with their recruitment drive. They were exceptional, receiving glowing praise from the charity for the work and effort they put in.
Among many other things, they filmed the residents when they were painting, holding the clapper boards and also got them to speak about what they think makes a good care worker.
Of the experience, Alex said
In regards to the experience, I would say it was eye opening to see just how important care workers are, as well as the need for more of them, and for more funding/ resources to go towards care homes. Also, in general it felt great to give the residents something to be a part of that they hadn't done before.

I had feedback from all involved to say that they felt included and actually enjoyed the experience. Our residents said that they really enjoyed talking about their experiences of living in the Care Home. I want to say a huge thank you to all, but in particular:
Ed for arranging the transport and the equipment and his lovely courtesy and respect, Alex for his vision in seeing what we are trying to achieve and in persevering to see it through and Rugile for her problem solving and coming up with solutions. All three are a huge credit to their course and the College. Thanks for your support and we will certainly talk to you about the next opportunity.
