At the end of April Buckinghamshire College Group opened their doors to Construction businesses and stakeholders for their first ever 'Building Ambition – Construction Talent Showcase Event'.
The event came as an opportunity for Construction businesses and stakeholders to meet the talent of the future. Final year Construction, Technology and Business students searching for jobs in the industry had the opportunity to meet businesses, share what they have to offer, develop their interview skills and finding out more about companies and careers that may be perfect for them once they finish their course. Over 15 companies and key stakeholders attended the event with 19 employers conducting practice interviews.
An employee from CITB said,
It was great to interact with the students again and it was good to see that tutors had put in a fair amount of preparation work.
Lucy Milton, Head of Business Development said,
Throughout the academic year, Construction employers have been meeting with students to run workshop sessions and talks, providing site visits as well as practical and simulated sessions and events all of which have been aimed at helping to inspire and motivate our students so they understand the multiple pathways available to them at the end of their course.
Building Ambition was a chance for the students to showcase their skills, knowledge and abilities to employers with the potential of possible employment opportunities becoming available at the end of their course in July.
I cannot thank enough all the companies and stakeholders for taking time out of their busy schedules to come and engage with the talent of the future. Looking forward, if you believe your company could inspire the next generation of talent for the construction industry and would like to partner with us to build that ambition, please do get in touch.
