On the 29th June, we celebrated the success of our students at our annual Student Award Ceremony. Similar to last year, the event took place at Missenden Abbey, Great Missenden and was hosted by local radio presenter, Wes Venn.
Many Students, Parents, Governors, Staff and Employers came along to see who received each award, as well as who might win the Overall Student of the Year Award.
Nicholas Thomas, who won Sport and Public Services Student of the Year also won our Overall Student of the Year Award chosen by Principal, Jenny Craig and the board of Governors. Sports Tutor, Clive White said,
I would like to nominate this person for the Sport and Public Services Student of the Year. They began their journey with Bucks College Group after they came for an interview in late August 2022 for our Level 2 Certificate in Sport course. They interviewed well and was a credit to the family that accompanied them. After going through a rather difficult start, from situations out of their control, they continued to come to college and gave their best effort to everything they did. Throughout this whole academic year they have shown true resilience and has never complained.
They have excelled on this Sports Course this year, achieving top grades in most of their assignments. They are very much a team player, always willing to help others in the group that are struggling with course work or willing to be the leader in practical assessments. Therefore, I would like to nominate this person for our Sport and Public Services Student of the Year, for their dedication to their studies, resilience in a time of adversity, and also for just being a very nice young man.
We would like to wish all of our winners a huge congratulations on their achievement, as well as thank all those that attended to support them. We would also like to thank our host, Wes Venn who made the event such a great success! We couldn't have done it without him!
