Buckinghamshire College Group recently participated in WorldSkills UK Game Jam, where Level 3 Games Development and T Level Digital, Design & Development students showcased their creativity and teamwork. This event provided a unique opportunity for participants to enhance their game design, planning, and digital skills.
Throughout the Game Jam, students transformed from complete beginners into game creators, focusing on fundamental level design skills. Each team developed engaging games within a tight timeframe of 4-6 hours, which were then made available for download, allowing friends and family to join in the fun.
The experience not only boosted students’ resilience and excitement but also prepared them for real-world challenges. By mapping their skills against national and international benchmarks, students were able to identify their strengths and areas for development, keeping them engaged throughout the academic year.
With a focus on manageable project scopes, students learned valuable skills applicable to various industries, including game development, architecture, VFX, film, and animation.
The Game Jam was a resounding success, and we are proud of our students’ achievements and creativity!
