Last week, Buckinghamshire College Group welcomed representatives from leading motor vehicle employers – Nissan, Honda, Sportif, TP Smart Repairs, and Protyre Autocare – to strengthen connections between the College and the automotive industry.
The motor vehicle employer visit was an opportunity for both Bucks College Group and its industry partners to explore ways to enhance student training, keep the curriculum aligned with industry requirements, and identify areas for ongoing collaboration.
The event began with a warm welcome and introduction from Andrew Spencer, Curriculum Manager for Construction & Technologies, followed by a guided tour of the College’s advanced Motor Vehicle facilities. Employers were able to see first-hand the hands-on learning environment Bucks College Group provides, which plays a vital role in preparing students for real-world automotive careers.
The College shared its range of Motor Vehicle programmes with employers, including full-time courses, apprenticeships, part-time options, and work experience placements. This was also a chance for employers to learn more about the bespoke training options Bucks College Group can offer, tailored to meet the specific needs of their staff. Employers were encouraged to provide feedback on the curriculum to ensure our training aligns with the skills and expertise the industry demands.
The event also created space for discussions around future initiatives, including donations of equipment, student work projects, and other collaborative opportunities that allow students to gain valuable industry experience.
Buckinghamshire College Group would like to thank Nissan, Honda, Sportif, TP Smart Repairs, and Protyre Autocare for their time, insights, and support. This partnership is essential to building relevant, high-quality educational programmes that empower students to succeed in the ever-evolving automotive industry.
