Yesterday, our College hosted its much-anticipated Annual Student Conference at Buckinghamshire New University’s Aylesbury campus. The event proved to be an inspiring and educational day with a line-up of engaging guest speakers, interactive workshops, and opportunities for meaningful discussions.
The highlight of the conference was a motivational talk delivered by Amani Simpson, whose powerful story captivated and inspired students to aim high and overcome challenges. Amani’s message left a lasting impact on everyone in attendance, encouraging resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
Adding to the day’s success, Sarah and Dom from Circles Southeast led a thought-provoking workshop focused on the topic of violence against women and girls. Through interactive discussions, students explored this important issue, fostering awareness, empathy, and meaningful dialogue. The session encouraged students to think critically about ways to address and prevents violence, leaving a lasting impression on all participants.
During a working lunch, students had the opportunity to connect with representatives from the local police authority and Buckinghamshire New University. These informal conversations added another layer to the day, providing practical insights and fostering stronger community ties.
Overall, the Annual Student Conference was a fun and enriching experience. By addressing crucial safeguarding topics in a supportive environment and empowering students to succeed, the event reinforced our commitment to preparing young people for bright and confident futures.
