Students from Buckinghamshire College Group were featured on BBC News today as part of a story about the ‘Inspiration Programme’ organised by Action4Youth. The organisation aims to provide fun, transformational experiences for all young people whatever their background or ability.
Teams of students got to attend the Thames Valley Public Order Training Centre at Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire to experience what it’s like being a front line Police Officer. They took part in a mock house raid and crowd control amongst a raft of activities organised for them.
The 12 month programme aims to develop the softer skills that employers are so often looking for – those of communication, team-building and problem-solving. Teenagers get to engage with society, to work together, follow instructions and experience life from a different perspective. You can see how the students got on at the centre here
