University Campus Aylesbury Vale was the scene for the College’s graduating National Citizen Service students this month who have worked in partnership with Action4Youth and Buckinghamshire College Group. NCS is a growing youth movement for all teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do.
“This was our fifth graduation ceremony in a four year partnership with NCS,” said Tracy Palmer, Curriculum Manager Public Services, Sport and Science. “Ninety eight Public Services, Sport and Health and Social Care students came together at the campus to be rewarded for their efforts. Students raised over £1,000 for six local Charity groups in just one week – a brilliant effort.”
The College also won the prestigious Gold NCS Award for the its excellence in promoting the NCS programme, for its commitment to the scheme and for the number of students participating. The NCS is fully embedded into college life so that all students get the opportunity to participate.
“I am particularly proud of the students and their achievements and this participation could not have worked without the close partnership with the Action4Youth team,” added Tracy.
