Buckinghamshire College Group offers a range of Health & Social Care and Childcare courses across its campuses in Wycombe and Aylesbury and H&SC apprenticeships across all three campuses. Completing students regularly go on to achieve great things and our courses provide an ideal platform for further development in a diverse range of subject areas. Below is a snapshot of progression routes for some of our Wycombe-based H&SC students.
LIAM DEWAN
Liam successfully completed the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. He has gone on to study Psychology with Education at the University of Sussex with a view to becoming an Educational Psychologist or Speech Therapist.
CHAYA ROBERTS
Chaya studied Level 3 Health & Social Care with us and has gone straight into employment with her placement organisation, Meadowside Care Home, as Activities Co-ordinator. She has set up a new Activities Room and introduced new initiatives to enrich the lives of the residents.
FRAYA JEFFRIES
Having completed her Health & Social Care Diploma with us this year with impressive results, Fraya is commencing her studies in Social Science at the University of Brighton and is hoping to take up a position as a Social Worker on completion of her degree.
KATY ROBERTS
Katy’s placement at PACE in Stoke Mandeville during her Health & Social Care Level 3 course was so inspiring that she is going on to study Occupational Therapy at Brunel University. She says, “My experience there is what set me on the path to becoming an Occupational Therapist”.
EMILY RAYNER
Emily has a passion for supporting mental health and gained valuable placement experience during her Health & Social Care Level 3 course at Bucks MIND. She has gone on to study for a degree in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Swansea.
DRAUPADI RUIZ TORRES
Drau is off to study Child Nursing at London City University. She was able to talk about her placement experience at Nascot Lawn Children’s Respite Service at her 1:1 interview and felt that this played a large part in securing her offer.
MADELINE PEARMAN DOYLE
Maddie has successfully completed her Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. She is now employed in a local day nursery and is looking forward to working her way up to Room Leader. She conducted her placement at the nursery and impressed them with her knowledge & enthusiasm.
LAUREN GOSWELL
Lauren completed her Health & Social Care Level 3 Diploma with us this summer and is very excited to be going off to SOAS (University of Oriental and African Studies) in London to start her Politics and Development Studies degree.
