Last week, Level 3 Acting for Stage & Screen students were thrilled to be involved with the local community by performing two pieces of Children’s Theatre at a local primary school, St George's C of E Infant School in Amersham.
Course Leader, Irene Rambota, says, “Level 3 Acting students have been taking Children's Theatre performances to St George's C of E Infant School for the past eight years. The pupils love the shows, stories which the Acting students adapt from well-loved fairy tales, Greek myths or animated feature films. The Acting students work hard to ensure their adaptations are educational and entertaining for the young children, incorporating the school's values and morals through improvised narrative and song.
Past performances have included adaptations of a wide-ranging choice of stories, from The Twelve Labours of Hercules and Cinderella to The Incredibles and Toy Story. The shows this year were The Friendly Mouse and Alice in Wonderland. The children were taught about courage, time management, how to be a good friend, how to count, sing the alphabet, cross the road safely, eat healthily, the importance of returning lost items and well as their left and right and some new words. As you can see from the photo, great fun was had by all!”
