Buckinghamshire College Group Level 3 Acting students were thrilled when Colin and Jan Jamison came in to chat about their experiences as professional hair stylists in the film industry.
Irene Rambota, Course Leader, says of the day: "With 50 years experience under his belt, BAFTA nominee Colin Jamison’s IMDB page is an extraordinary testament to his talent and artistry: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Batman, Black Beauty, Tomb Raider, Alien 3, 101 Dalmations (BAFTA nomination), Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Salt …. to name but a few! Colin’s last film before retiring was Maleficent, having been Angelina Jolie’s personal hair stylist for 15 years. Colin and Jan had some wonderful tales to tell of their time on movie sets and glamorous locations."
The Importance of Hollywood Hair
"Colin and Jan are the grandparents of Ben Rendell who is a first year student on the Level 3 Acting for Stage & Screen course at Buckinghamshire College Group. Ben is currently playing Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, the first year Acting students production this week in the outdoor courtyard of the Amersham campus. Colin and Jan brought in a wig that they then styled specifically for Ben to wear in the show and Colin also styled the hair for three other students: Atlanta Kristen-Orchard who is playing Gwendolen, Ana-Maria Sandulescu who is playing Cecily and Iman Hassan who is playing Miss Prism. You can see the fantastic results in the photos and the subsequent extraordinary transformation of Ben Rendell into Lady Bracknell! Colin made the styling look so easy – it was an absolute joy and privilege to watch a master craftsman at work!"
FREE ENTRY TO THE SHOW!!!! Everyone is invited to come and see the results in action. The show is outdoors so do come prepared for British weather.
