In March 2021 we announced that we were exploring the possibility of a modern, purpose-built campus for technical, professional and vocational skills, education and training in the centre of Wycombe.

Since the start of the academic year, our Level 2 Brickwork students have gained over 200 hours of work experience at the Kingsbrook School Development site.

Following a full inspection in November 2021 from Ofsted, Buckinghamshire College Group has been awarded an overall effectiveness grade of “Good”, it’s first as a merged college following its formation in 2017. A large team of inspectors visited campuses in Aylesbury, Amersham and Wycombe to meet students, staff and observe lessons. They graded the College in eight key areas finding it to be “Good” in all but one type of provision.

We are proud to now be joining Into Games as an Education Partner for 2021/2022 academic year.

Our Game Design & Development teaching staff will take part in a curriculum development day with games industry experts, teacher CPD events, and will be partnered with a major UK Games studio as part of Into Games ground-breaking “Studio Live” simulated virtual work experience. We will also be provided with one specialised industry speaker per term to align with curriculum teaching, and receive guidance on how to get the best out of Into Games’ free resources like the Video Games Ambassador’s program.

At Buckinghamshire College Group we provide emergency first aid courses for schools through our fantastic HealthTec centre. Recently a local school provided this training to their pupils. One pupil then used this invaluable knowledge to provide essential first aid to his mother whilst she had an unexpected seizure at home.

Our Level 1 Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young Peoples Settings Students have become Dementia Friendly Aylesbury’s first Dementia friends of 2022.

Back in November 2021, our Entry 3 Foundation Learning Students took part in Parliament Week. UK Parliament Week is an annual event that engages people from across the UK with Parliament. The week in 2021 showed a focus on how small actions can lead to big changes.

On Wednesday 15th December we saw the debut of our live stream music show, Pitched. The Christmas themed show was a collaboration from students across several subects including, Music, Music Technology, Film and TV, VFX Animation and Performing Arts students. The show was streamed live from the TV studio at our Amersham Campus.
